Touring partners to Liam Gallagher, Courteeners and Gerry Cinnamon, Aussie trio DMA’s have reached arena status from their previous two albums thanks to their no-nonsense way with an anthemic chorus. The band’s raucous approach masks how singer Tommy O’Dell and guitarist Johnny Took actually began as a studio-based electronic project. Working with Madonna/ New Order producer Stuart Price, DMA’s now add dance grooves, while maintaining the gut-punch directness. Round And Around and single Life Is A Game Of Changing will win over Doves fans anxiously awaiting their studio comeback, and O’Dell has a new tenderness in his voice on the ballads. One of the most riotous new live bands, DMA’s have managed to bring that energy to the studio and fully deserve to bask in the glow of their success.
