BRESSINGHAM Steam Museum celebrated the 60th anniversary of Alan Bloom buying the first road engine for his collection, at an event, held over September 17-19. It featured visits by railway and road locomotives which were once part of the collection, but subsequently moved on.
Two Statfold Narrow Gauge Museum Trust 2ft gauge locos visited. Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0WT 1643/1930 Surrey County Council No. GP 39, named Bronllwyd during its time at Bressingham when it was Alan Bloom’s favourite loco, was accompanied by Hunslet 0-4-0ST Sybil Mary to work on the Fen Line alongside resident ex-Penrhyn Hunslet 0-4-0ST Gwynedd.
