Slovak Railways’ dual voltage electric loco No. 350 020 arrives at the current Brno hl.n on June 21, 2012 with EC275 from Prague to Budapest. The Class 350 locos which were built by Škoda between 1973 and 1975 are likely to be withdrawn in the next few years, replaced by more modern locos and appearances outside Slovakia, already reduced, are likely to become much rarer.

PLANS for a new 14 platform ‘Brno hlavní nádraží’ station (hl. n = hlavní nádraží = main station) for the Czech Republic’s second largest city, Brno, have been announced. Unlikely to be built until the 2030s, the new station is part of ambitious plans to build a high-speed line network in the Czech Republic connecting Prague with Dresden, Brno and Ostrava with connections to neighbouring Slovakia and Poland by 2050.
