We’re excited to introduce not only our firstever double cover this issue, but also our first entirely vegan food section, in celebration of Veganuary 2018. Even since we started planning this section months ago, the buzz around vegan has grown – with no signs we’re anywhere near ‘peak vegan’.
And it’s not just the ‘health’ world obsessing over it. This is the year vegan broke out of the lazy lentils and nut roast cliché (although I love both!) and went modern. Just this week, I’ve heard a radio documentary about it, read an article ‘in defence’ of it on a glossy mainstream website, and received a release from an ‘upmarket’ food retailer on how it’s a big trend for 2018.
