eaver Notes is one of several note-taking apps on the Linux desktop. Some are designed to serve large teams collaborating on a project, but Beaver is for personal use. It is straightforward and user-friendly, and has all the features you’d expect.
Beaver distributes both DEB and RPM binaries, as well as a distro-agnostic AppImage. Grab the AppImage and turn it into an executable with chmod +x Beavernotes-3.9.0.AppImage .
By default, Beaver opens a note that gives an introduction to the app. It doesn’t take long to get started thanks to the simple, intuitive interface. Click the + icon to add a new note. The top panel has all the options you need to format your notes. Experienced campaigners will appreciate the fact that Beaver supports Markdown as well.
Click the Notes icon in the side panel to view a list of all your notes. If hovered over, a note reveals buttons to bookmark it, archive/unarchive it, and to delete it. You can also lock the note to secure it with a password.
Besides text, you can use Beaver Notes to add images, blocks of code, videos and more to your notes.
