GREAT AMERICAN GHOST
Tragedy Of The Commons SHARPTONE
New Hampshire metalcore outfit add a melodic twist to their ferocity
Produced by Will Putney, who seems to only work with uncompromisingly heavy and high calibre artists, Tragedy Of The Commons sees Great American Ghost evolve their feral sound. Malicious metal tinged with hardcore breakdowns and melodic choruses is elevated by the phenomenal production that finds Ethan Harrison’s vocals cutting through the mix with impressive clarity. While the New Hampshire quartet’s previous releases have been unfathomably hate-filled and murderous, here the band lean more into melody at apt moments, showing their diversity while not losing any of their in-built aggression. Lost In The Outline and Chapel Paralysis demonstrate their ferocity, while Ghost In Flesh and Echoes Of War prove their softer moments aren’t any less impactful.
