RØRY
Restoration SADCØRE
British nu gen newcomer makes her mark
PRESS/CHUCK BRUECKMANN
RØRY’S debut album is an autobiographical rollercoaster. From addiction to depression, failure and finally triumph, Restoration puts her experiences – the good, bad and ugly – out on the table. Tracks like In The Bible and Blossom owe their slick polish to post-Amo BMTH, but what really shines here is RØRY’S talent as a confessional lyricist. As an artist finally coming into her own at the age of 40, after years of slog, Sorry I’m Late noisily claps back against ageism, in particular the erasure of older women across all corners of society. Meanwhile, One Drink Away talks about the fragility of sobriety and her fear of falling off the wagon. This is an album a lot of people are going to relate to.
