THE BBC’s festive season launch in London’s West End could have been a jolly affair, what with the huge ratings success of
The Celebrity Traitors
and a rousing speech from new chief content officer Kate Phillips, but its overstretched press team appeared exhausted.
There was talk of festive treats, such as a Christmas special of Amandaland, plus discussion of new hosts for Strictly Come Dancing (Phillips said they won’t start looking properly until January for replacements for Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly). But inevitably the BBC exec had to discuss the loss of director-general Tim Davie and BBC News CEO Deborah Turness.
