St Biscuits
The prestigious prep school, St Biscuits, the feeder school for the even more prestigious St Cakes, the independent fee-paying boarding school for boys and girls (motto: Quis Custodiet Ipsos Custard Creams?), has decided to change the name of one of its houses. From now on, Pepys House will no longer bear the name of the celebrated 17th-century diarist and sex offender. Said the Headmaster of St Biscuits, Wing Commander (retd) “Ginger” Nutt, “We knew all about Pepys and his behaviour in the swinging sixties (1660s), but we had no idea that Samuel Pepys was a serial diarist. This was a man who deliberately and unapologetically chronicled the events of his time and he has no place in a school like ours.” He continued, “The new house will be renamed to something more appropriate to the traditions of St Biscuits. We were considering names such as Saviles, Rolfs and Glitters but, in the end, we decided to play safe and go for Prince Andrews.”
