HORSLIPS
At The BBC MADFISH
Five discs of previously unreleased material from the Celtic rock pioneers.
In the early 70s, Horslips’ modus operandi was to ally their love of The Beatles, Jethro Tull and Deep Purple with the tunes, instrumentation and legends of traditional Irish music and, as guitarist Barry Devlin has said, “make it grand rather than little”. Of course there was no guarantee that the Dublin band would make this combination work, but they did so in grand style, as this collection of BBC sessions shows.
