SUPPORT THE PARADOX TWIN
Tonight’s concert is the work of the excellent London Prog Gigs. The club room at 229 is a medium-sized venue and it’s probably at about half capacity, which is a real shame for both bands and organisers.
Openers The Paradox Twin have faced their fair share of line-up reshuffles in the past, but tonight they more than deliver. They have a more classic neo-prog sound compared to the headliners’ heaviness – there’s a hint of Floydian melancholy to Sea Of Tranquility and a sense of scale and expansiveness to I Am Me. I Am Free and Planeta, while the excellent set-closer Moonblood features nimble syncopation between the guitar and drums. It all goes down a storm – Danny Sorrell and his band either brought fans with them tonight or they win over the room in impressive fashion.
