We did what we had to do; we won the heat. Jess (Morrison) and Annabelle (McIntyre) had raced two hours earlier so we knew, when they had fresh legs, we would have an extra notch come the final.
In the heat the Irish pushed us to the line and were 0.2 seconds off us at the finish. It wasn’t a surprise because I knew they had a big wind on them. We’d watched them race earlier in the year.
