An Olympic medal was my goal and the gold medal is every athlete’s dream. I felt good the whole week in Tokyo. In the beginning it was a bit difficult because of all the things going on in the Olympic village, but as soon as the racing started, I was focused on what I wanted to achieve.
Then there was the cancellation of Monday and Tuesday’s racing. When I went to the course, I had perfect training conditions with no wind. So, I had good training sessions on the days when the typhoon was forecasted.
And looking at the weather forecast for Wednesday we suddenly had 8 m/s whereas before it was 5 m/s. 5m/s is what they consider unrowable at that course. So, it was all a bit strange.
