The volunteer crew of Oban lifeboat Mora Edith MacDonald were called out in storm force winds to search for a vessel reported as being adrift and in possible distress.
At 12.27pm on Wednesday September 19, the crew launched to aid the vessel to the north-east of Lismore. The lifeboat with seven crew arrived in the area shortly aTher 1pm and recorded wind speeds of a steady 56 knots.
The incident began with a 999 call to the UK Coastguard from a member of public concerned for the safety of a boat near Lismore. The description suggested that it was adrift and in distress.
