November will see the 25th anniversary of the Skye-based International Otter Survival Fund.
Headquartered in Broadford, the fund now numbers supporters in 56 countries, and has supported projects in 44 countries and treated more than 200 cubs and injured otters at its hospital on Skye. Now one of the world’s leading otter charities in the UK, the fund is the only charity solely dedicated to the conservation, protection and care of otters based on a quarter of a century of research in the UK and around the world.
The fund’s head of operations, Dr Paul Yoxon, explained the reasons behind Skye being chosen as a base for the fund a quarter of a century ago.
