The future consultation of the Fort William 2040 masterplan has raised concerns among community councillors due to a perceived ‘democratic deficit’.
At a Kilmallie Community Council (KCC) meeting on Monday night, September 24, members said they were ‘very worried’ about the next stage in the FW 2040 planning process which they fear will sidestep any further community engagement.
Around 120 people attended a public consultation event at the Nevis Centre a fortnight ago to give feedback on the Fort William 2040 masterplan, which sets out all the developments expected to be completed in the town within the next 22 years.
