BOSS KELOID
The UK’s kings of unpredictable psych-stoner sludge take another trip into the great unknown
WORDS: RICH HOBSON
THE SIGNS WERE there from the beginning, when riff-merchants Boss Keloid transitioned seamlessly from Melvins-meets-Down sludge into Primus-flavoured madness on the track Spurt Reynolds from their debut EP, Angular Beef Lesson. Three albums later and the only consistent thing about the Wigan band has been their ability to challenge boundaries of listener and genre alike, culminating in the sublime Melted On The Inch in 2018, which earned a glowing 8/10 in these pages. Hammer caught up with drummer Ste Arands to find out what they’ve got cooking now.
