THE GENERALS

To Hell

Pit-primed death’n’roll with a dark edge for dark times

BLACK ZOMBIE

Eight years on from the release of their warmly received second record, Blood For Blood, these Swedish death’n’rollers have returned to the fray armed with a slightly amended plan of attack. This time around, their rock-informed flourishes are mostly AWOL and their music has grown harsher and meaner to mirror these draconian times. Boasting 10 pitready cuts, what the foursome lack in originality, they make up for with passion and commitment to the cause. Evolution Of The Flesh and Demonical Trait are particularly savage affairs. The former mixes a little black metal into the pot and is performed with military precision, while the latter sees them slow the tempo and chug with the best of them. Bombardment is another highlight and it’s a feral three minutes that fans of Wolverine Blues will unboubtedly enjoy sinking their teeth into.
