MOJAVE DESERT, CALIFORNIA
Nebula get their rocks off in the Mojave desert

Earthless are oblivous to what planet they’re on
FOUR HOURS NORTHEAST of Los Angeles sits the ancient Mojave Desert – a dry, rolling expanse of crumbling rock formations, dusty roads and gnarled cacti pointed defiantly towards the sun. Tucked into a pyramidic rock formation, the first two of five stoner bands streamed fortnightly – along with a film crew and many tons of lights, generators and cameras – perform live sets here, with only the crew and the wildlife as living witnesses.
Each instalment combines videos, interviews and documentary footage with live performances. EARTHLESS, the voyaging San Diego power trio, open their set at dusk with the cavernous, feedback-drenched waves of Violence Of The Red Sea. As darkness descends, liquid lights pour over the surrounding rocks while the band deliver a consciousnesselevating alchemy of frenzied jamming and pounding stoner grooves including the magnificent closer, Lost In The Cold Sun.
