SEASONING OPERATORS
THE chancellor came under fire for accepting free tickets to a Sabrina Carpenter gig at the O2 Arena from Anschutz (which owns the venue), but the bulk of her hospitality actually comes from dining with bankers.
While the MPs’ register of interests only records hospitality worth more than £300, the register for ministers shows any hospitality accepted. The latest reveals that between Rachel Reeves’ re-election in July and February, the chancellor enjoyed meals typically worth between £100 and £200 courtesy of HSBC (dinner), JP Morgan (lunch), Barclays (breakfast), Blackstone (dinner), Royal Bank of Canada (lunch) and Canadian investment firm the Brookfield Corporation (dinner).
