, featuring eight self-obsessed TikTokers living in a house in Los Angeles. It was not a runaway success.
Reviewers called it “lifeless” and “mind-numbing”; and some subscribers even threatened to cancel their subscriptions if it wasn’t taken off air. So how did Alex Warren, one of those vacant faces on Hype House, manage to claw his way out of that disaster zone to number one in the UK pop charts, where he has stayed for the past five weeks with a dreary ditty called, appropriately enough, “Ordinary”?
