Since she had done neither, Melton took a quick look at that day’s paper – and found a lengthy article headlined: “Why ARE so many mothers (me included) taking cocaine at children’s house parties?” It was bylined to Anna Melton, and as well as confessing to using the drug with a circle of friends who regularly snorted it while looking after their kids, the writer claimed to have “worked in publicity for years”, had three teenage children and a husband who works in IT.
