What kind of preparation did you have to do to approach playing Deathstroke?
I am into research. The thing about it is, I don’t think there is one comic book series that helped me understand who that character was. Most of the stories were very comic-booky. That doesn’t help you when you are playing a three-dimensional person. For me, it was more about the broad strokes, about where this character comes from. “Oh, he was in the military? What branch of the military would he have been in? What would he have done in the military? What did his wife do? Who are those real people in reality?” It has to be really grounded, for me, in order to build something.
How much did that mentality extend to his weapons and his appearance?
