Reducetarianism
OK, it doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, but if you’re health-conscious and environmentally aware, chances are you’re already starting to follow this way of eating. ‘I’m immensely interested in this strong trend, where the consumption of meat and fish is reduced, but not entirely avoided,’ says Mandy Saven, head of food, beverage and hospitality at trends-prediction agency Stylus. ‘We know a more plantbased diet is good for health, hence the rise in vegetarianism and veganism (and trends like cauli pizza and spiralised veg). Reducetarianism will resonate with individuals who understand the benefits, but don’t want to commit to being vegan or vegetarian all the time.’
