A FORMER council leader claimed more than £15,000 in allowances over a six-month period despite failing to attend any meetings, a freedom of information request has revealed.
Rob Humby, ex-Tory leader of Hampshire county council, justified his absences by saying he had to care for three elderly relatives. Meanwhile the local authority was grappling with a projected £182m deficit in 2025-26 and warning of financial collapse.
