MULLEN: IT’S OVER
A RARE moment of positivity in the scorched wasteland that is the stable of newspapers owned by Reach plc, as CEO Jim Mullen announced on Sunday morning that he is to leave the company after six years of slashing and burning.
“It’s no secret that I’m a big horseracing fan, so taking on the role of group chief executive of the Jockey Club from 1st June is another welcome opportunity to combine work with a personal passion of mine,” he told staff in his valedictory email. “A nice change for him then, since he seems to actively hate journalism,” pointed out one recipient.
