AS governments seek to implement their own programmes of AI-assisted transformation, OpenAI has launched an initiative to help states develop AI infrastructure projects akin to the “Stargate” deal announced with the US administration in January.
“We’ve heard from many countries asking for help,” OpenAI announced. “We want to help these countries, and in the process spread democratic AI, which means the development, use and deployment of AI that protects and incorporates long-standing democratic principles.” So how will this “democratic” AI be delivered?
