BLYTH SPIRIT
EAST SUFFOLK council appears content to let billionaire estate agent Jon Hunt, founder of Foxtons, get away with blatant defiance of planning regulations. One of Hunt’s companies is Wilderness Reserve, an 8,000-acre luxury eco-holiday resort where lodges start at £400 a night, rising to £3,700.
The latest project is Blyth Barn, next to the village of Huntingfield, population 150. Planning permission was granted to convert three Victorian farm buildings into individual lodges. The council’s assessment praised the plan’s retention of the buildings’ historic character.
