… I must correct Remote Controller’s assertion that Jacob Rees-Mogg is “Latinfluent” (Eye 1648). This was evidenced as recently as 2021 when, during an interview on LBC, and despite claiming “a good classical knowledge is a very high level of intellect”, he performed disastrously in a quiz, getting only one out of the three Latin-based questions correct (which was the Eton school motto, “Floreat Etona”).
