Responding to Scott Arthur of the Commons transport committee, Alexander said she was looking to publish a response “in the coming months” to a consultation that was held in, er, 2020. Arthur thought “people probably want more than a response to the consultation” and “probably want a timeline”. Alexander: “We need to work out what approach we would like to take, whether it is one that is perhaps more limited and involves secondary legislation or whether it is more extensive and might involve primary legislation. We would need to look through how we might then work that into our broader programme.”
