Easy money
PREMIER INN has become the latest target of easyJet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou’s

crazed courts campaign to seek monopoly control over the word, er, “easy”.
The hotel chain joins a growing list of companies, charities and even a pop group to have been menaced and/or sued by Sir Stelios over the past two decades. The Monaco-based tycoon is using the services of some of London’s finest, mainly law firms Stephenson Harwood and Shoosmiths, but also notorious SLAPPers such as Harbottle & Lewis.
Having gone into tax exile to enjoy the millions earned from his budget airline and associated businesses, in 2021 the tycoon lost control of easyJet and now spends his time chasing down any British company great or small that dares use the word “easy” in names or campaigns.
