That car crash interview
PRINCE ANDREW Writes exclusively for Private Eye
Honestly, what was Harry thinking? He should never have agreed to that interview with that woman from the BBC. He made an absolute fool of himself. If only he’d come to me for some advice. I would have told him that he should have been as straightforward as a shooting party and the whole thing would have been no sweat. He should have simply told the interviewer that he had no memory whatsoever of meeting his father and that he was in a pizza parlour in Woking when the legal case was going on. Then he should have paid off his father with an undisclosed cheque to make it clear that he was completely innocent of all charges and then the whole thing would have gone away. As it was, he looked entitled, privileged, uncaring, totally lacking in self-awareness, dim and, let’s be honest, a right-Royal chump! Next time he even thinks about doing an excruciating royal interview, he should come to the experts first.
