cars here for 77 years,” said Jaguar Land Rover boss Adrian Mardell as he introduced the prime minister at his company’s Solihull plant on the day of the UK-US trade deal.
“British innovation, British design, British engineering, manufactured here in the Midlands for the world, including the US of A.” But there was one small point Mardell neglected to mention – the ownership of the company and where the profits ultimately belong: India. Jaguar Land Rover Group is almost half-owned by the Tata group, itself controlled by the Tata family.
