WHILE the English water firms take a battering for polluting our rivers and seas, how is the not-for-profit Welsh Water faring? The firm, also known by its Welsh name Dŵr Cymru, has 3m customers in Wales and Herefordshire.
In July and August, Welsh news outlets reported that raw sewage had been seeping on to West Shore beach in north Wales at the height of the holiday season. Senedd member for Aberconwy Janet Finch-Saunders said Welsh Water needed to invest more in its pumping stations after holidaymakers on the popular Conwy beach reported sewage coming from under the door of a nearby pumping station.
