TRAINING SCAM

A SUPPLIER of adult education “skills bootcamps” to the Department for Education (DfE) claimed for more than 150 “milestone” payments for helping students get job interviews with a fictional employer, court documents reveal.
Introduced by Rishi Sunak’s government, Skills Bootcamps offered free courses of 16 weeks in sector-specific skills with an offer of a job interview at the end. DfE would fork over payments to training providers for meeting milestones, with the first payment after learners completed 14 days of training, and later payments for things like getting an interview for either a new job or a promotion.
