ANNOUNCING the long overdue public inquiry into police brutality against striking miners at Orgreave coking plant in June 1984, and the later trials of 95 pickets that collapsed amid claims of police lies and fabricated evidence, home secretary Yvette Cooper praised campaigners who had “never stopped in their search for truth and justice”.
So why should tireless campaigners whose community and lives were shattered by the pub bombings in Birmingham in November 1974 (Eyes passim) be treated differently?
