Busy Bodmin
AYEAR after Bodmin Hospital had to close psychiatric intensive care wards and move stroke patients 16 miles to another hospital due to fire-safety concerns (

Bodmin Hospital is owned and run by PFI vehicle GH Bodmin, a subsidiary of investment company BIIF LP, formerly known as Barclays Integrated Infrastructure Fund. According to Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust board papers released last month, the delay is “significant” and presents “a worrying risk” to the timeline for reopening some closed beds by the end of the year. Same-day emergency care, and community assessment and treatment units (CATUs) will also be affected.
