A TUNBRIDGE Wells councillor has struck a bum note with refined residents of the royal spa town after nodding through gigs that keep them up past their bedtimes.
Independent councillor David Hayward, chair of the licensing subcommittee, granted two temporary event notices to Targetfollow Estates Ltd, owner of Georgian parade the Pantiles. But party-pooping Pantiles residents fretted about noise from the, er, bandstand jazz and soul nights – which lasted until a shocking 10pm!
