All 22 members of Lochaber Schools Pipe Band played to crowds in Belgium and France.
Members of the Lochaber Schools Pipe Band have recently returned from a European musical tour that saw them play to crowds in Belgium and France. The 24-strong group of students and staff at Lochaber High School first performed in De Haan, Belgium, on July 2 and then in the Jardin de Luxembourg in central Paris the next day.
The band did manage to find enough time to unwind and enjoy the sights in Paris and Bruges as well as a day at Disneyland Paris. The pipe band is very grateful to the LMM Business Enterprise Trust for a donation of £2,000 and Liberty for a donation of £500. Without such financial assistance, it would be have been very hard to organise the trip and open up this opportunity to all who wished to take part. Members, friends and family also helped raise money through bake sales and extra street parades. The band resumes its traditional High Street performances on thursday July 19.
