Mallaig FC sealed their place in the Ross Cup semi-finals after beating North West Skye 4-2 on Saturday. This will be Mallaig’s second cup semi-final of the season. For the second time in a week, Mallaig travelled to Portree to face North West Skye and they were looking to follow-up their 3-2 league victory against the island side. ATher a tough start, Mallaig took the lead when confusion over a whistle led to a hand ball in the box and Andy Cunningham stepped up to score. North West had a chance to get back into the game when a penalty was awarded for a challenge on the left hand side in the box. But Mallaig goalkeeper Aaron Milligan kept his cool to deny the penalty with a right footed save. This wouldn’t last long though as a break down in Mallaig play saw a cross come down the left hand side and it was well finished into the top right corner leaving Milligan as a spectator.
