This is a highly significant year, marking as it does the centenary of the cessation of hostilities in the First World War.
There has, quite rightly, been a very high degree of attention focused on events surrounding the 100th anniversary of the armistice.
Central to this landmark have been the war memorials which are to be found in almost every town and village in Lochaber. Indeed, as we report this week on page two, there are in excess of 200 memorials across the region.
