Someone recently encouraged me to join them at one of the local climbing walls. I’d never tried this before but immediately enjoyed it and now I’m going most weeks. It’s a mental and physical challenge to try to get up some of the routes and improve the grades that you can manage.
At first you often seem to be struggling, only just hanging on and sometimes falling off so there’s a desire to improve your technique. You can learn from others to place more confidence in your feet because your legs are stronger than your arms and develop better balance to feel safer and more secure.
Trying, sometimes failing but trying again, you can gradually move forward and achieve more.
