The farming community invites everyone to come along and join in the annual celebration of all that’s best in local agriculture at the 2018 Lorn Show. Once again the event will be held at Tralee Beach on the Keil Common Grazings at Benderloch on Saturday August 4, with generous support and assistance from the Keil Croffers. The show has always had a fine reputation for livestock, especially blackface sheep and Highland cattle, and this year there will be farmers coming from as far away as Kintyre and the Isle of Mull to show their stock.
United Auctions is main sponsor of the show, signing a three-year sponsorship deal in 2016. Donald Morrison, the area managing director for Argyll and the Islands, said at the time of the announcement: ‘Having attended the event for 40 years, it is great news that UA is backing the show. It’s an excellent shop window to see top quality stock on offer, which is why it attracts competitors and visitors from all over Argyll and the islands.’ Judging will begin at 10am for cattle, sheep and poultry classes; the highest honour in the show is the Bremner Cup for best overall.
