CANVASS FRAMING
THE ROYAL Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) is accused of ignoble behaviour over a controversial consultation. Residents have repeatedly urged RBKC to rein in gung-ho door-to-door canvassers drumming up support for Kensal Canalside, which the council has earmaked for development by Ballymore and Sainsbury’s. Since 2023, locals have complained that consultation company Thorncliffe Your Shout, acting for the developers, stops passers-by in the street for surveys and embellishes responses to appear more pro-development. The company uploads responses to RBKC’s planning portal, so residents question if all respondents have consented to data sharing.
