Class war
TEACHERS convicted of serious crime, including sexual offences against children, once again took up much of the Teaching Regulation Agency’s (TRA) time in the past two months, while school unions warn that the backlog in investigations is harming those who are eventually cleared of wrongdoing.
The teaching regulator made prohibition orders in several cases where former teachers were unable to attend hearings because they are serving jail sentences, including primary school teacher Zoe Williams, who was convicted in 2023 of filming herself and her boyfriend sexually assaulting young teenagers.
