MANY English households now face even higher water bills after the Competition and Markets Authority agreed to allow five water firms to increase charges.
Anglian, Northumbrian, Southern, Wessex and South East appealed for higher increases than those agreed by Ofwat from April this year, despite averaging a 36 percent rise over the next five years. The firms argued they needed more money to improve infrastructure.
