More than 200 people made their way to the Rock field Centre on Saturday for Argyll’s First Wee Vegan Fair. The huts were buzzing with discussions about veganism, with stall holders providing a wide variety of food – including both vegan cakes and pies. The event was organised by Janine Calder, who runs_Catchacarrot Vegan Pop Up Cafe and wanted to showcase veganism and because ‘we have never had anything like this in Oban before’. Speaking at the event she said: ‘It’s going really well. I am thrilled there have been this many people interested in veganism.’ On the day people could sample and buy food, merchandise, or take part in talks hosted by Go Vegan Scotland.
