A SHERIFF found charges of possession of a knife and and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner against a marine engineer from Morar not proven after a trial at Fort William Sheriff Court this week.
The trial of James MacNaughton, of Rhubana View, had been part heard after starting towards the end of last year.
MacNaughton, now 61, had denied that on September 8, 2016, he had been in possession of a knife at Mallaig habour and had behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm by shouting and swearing, uttering threats and brandishing a knife.
