CALMAC’S plans to suspend all services from Lochboisdale for two weeks in June have been criticised by Na h-Eileanan an Iar MSP Alasdair Allan.
The proposal has been devised by CalMac to cover a period while the MV Clansman will go back into dry dock for permanent repairs to her propeller shaft.
Dr Allan said: ‘Given that CalMac’s CEO and north area manager were in Uist just last week to listen to the concerns of residents over the chaos caused by previous redeployment decisions, it is particularly disappointing that the latest changes result in Uist bearing the brunt of disruptions to services again.
