THE BBC faces another serial litigant with fat pockets and galling methods in the person of Mohamed Amersi, whose latest setbacks in the high court and appeal court continue an impressive losing streak in his interminable libel claim against Auntie.
Amersi is still suing the BBC for bribery and corruption allegations it made against him in an October 2021 Panorama. The former telecoms tycoon initiated libel proceedings a year later and an unsuccessful attempt to appeal to the Court of Appeal has since served to ramp up costs and drag out proceedings.
